    Postpartum Abhyanga Oil

Abhyanga oil massage is a form of liquid love for postpartum mothers, facilitating rejuvenation and nourishing bodies down to the deepest tissues. Postpartum abhyanga soothes the nervous system, offering mothers a much needed sense of containment and softening. Oil massage lowers cortisol levels, boosts oxytocin, improves sleep. You can ask your partner or mother, or mother in law, or licensed massage therapist to use this oil and give you gentle full body massage, or simply do it yourself. I will walk you through how to do self- Abhyanga in the second class if desired.

    Postpartum Herbal Bath

Postpartum herbal baths are an excellent, natural way to soothe tender, inflamed tissue, help heal tears, reduce hemorrhoids, and otherwise soothe your nervous system after baby is born. If bath is not accessible, I will create an herbal formula for a foot soak.

    Bengkung Belly Bind Cloth

Traditional Malay belly binding optional to do after each Abhyanga massage. Belly binding assists with uterus involution, provides postural support, stabilizes loose ligaments, provides relief with lower back ache and tension, and also can feel emotionally comforting.

    Belly Paste

Applied before belly binding. A warming paste that will physically warm up your abdominal area to help with the following: increase blood flow to the area to help aid in recovery, help with toning, aid in tightening of loose skin, helps decrease water retention. Warming paste is an East Asian Recipe made by Adilah Yelton

    Panchakola Ghee

A traditional 5-spice ghee for supporting and increasing agni (digestive fire) imbalances and improving digestion. Best used the first ten days postpartum.

    Sweetwater Lactation Tea

This tea blend gives gentle warmth, reduces acidity, hydrates the tissues and increases milk production. Ayurveda recommends drinking 2 quarts of this tea daily for at least 6 weeks following childbirth.

    Dashamula Tea

Incredibly healing tea that nourishes and tones muscle tissue and supports the correct downward flow of energy to help with smooth bowel movements. Also helps with relieving gas and constipation, assists in healing the tissues of the uterus, soothes nervous system, creates a calming effect on the mind.

    Moxa

Moxa or Moxibustion is a treatment based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. You can choose from a mother warming Moxa Stick (an easy uterine warming modality) or you can choose a moxa box (a bit more involved and your partner/friend will need to help you administer it) . The moxa is made from mugwort . This herb brings warmth and comfort back to the womb after childbirth. The moxa stick and box promotes circulation and brings blood back to the womb. Detailed instructions with how to use the stick will be included in the care box. The stick needs to be used in an area that is outside or with a window open so smoke can be released outdoors. If you are not comfortable with moxa with smoke, please ask me about smokeless moxa.

    Shatavari Kalpa

Sweet herbal formula used to help balance hormones after 10 days postpartum. Incorporating antioxidant-rich foods and herbs is essential in order to support healing and reduce the amount of oxidative stress that comes from stress, lack of sleep, and simply adjusting to life with baby.

    Bedside Refreshment

A basket or box containing items and other natural goodies for postpartum quick pick-me-ups to keep by your bedside. The container will include: oil-pulling for clean mouth, rosewater, aromatherapy roll-on and a few other lovelies that will spark instant joy.

    Cherry Pit Hotpack

Amazing washable hot/cold pack for your womb or for your head, shoulders and breasts. Lovely to have in your tool kit when you are uncomfortable.

    Warming Spices

Two sets of warming spices for cooking in stainless steel Indian spice holders for easy access to spices. 10 + spices that are in the recipe book are included in these easy to use spice containers. “Allison’s tender and attuned energy is a beautiful gift.”

My experience with Allison’s support during my postpartum period has been life-changing, and I’m really not exaggerating. After a first postpartum experience that was less than ideal, prioritizing support for myself while I integrated my second birth was important to me. I invested in a package of Allison’s offerings, and WOW!

She arrived at my home a few days after I gave birth for our first session. She made me a nourishing meal and warm tea to sip on while I sat for an herbal yoni steam, then gave me a full body massage with infused oil, taking her time on my womb space. This was followed by an exfoliating full body scrub made with deliciously warming spices like coriander and cardamom. I took a bath afterwards where she had a beautiful herbal infusion waiting for me to rinse off with. I then tucked into bed and nursed my baby and ate some more of the food she prepared. After several hours of being lovingly tended to with the most warming and soothing of modalities, I felt so deeply held.

Allison’s tender and attuned energy is a beautiful gift that she blesses the world with. Being able to be in my home with my newborn baby right beside me, and have someone like Allison there to “mother” me is something I wish everyone could experience.

We’ve had several sessions since, and each one has been equally as nourishing. I highly recommend investing in Allison’s postpartum support for yourself.
