Postpartum Bundle
ONE

A SINGLE in-home Postpartum Care Day with Abhyanga + two Uterine Warming Modalities, Plant Bath

This bundle includes:

Your choice of
2 out of the 4 postpartum warming modalities

Optional full body exfoliation included after Abhyanga

Vedhu Vellam (Herbal Water) herbal wash provided for rinsing after massage

This In-home care day is approx. 4-5 hours with setup and cleanup

INCLUSIONS & OPTIONS

  • Abhyanga is a type of massage that is derived from the Ayurvedic tradition from India. The Abhyanga oil massage sessions are typically two hours, giving your central nervous system time to receive abundant, relieving restoration of body and spirit.

Options include deep tissue, Swedish or Thai massage, cocoa butter, ortho-bionomy, or isolated muscle stretching.

In the comfort of your home, sessions include:

    • use of warm Abhyanga oil, a sesame-based healing herbal oil which promotes lymph movement and whole body circulation

    • an herbal infusion to replenish and hydrate your body after the treatment

Having childcare during the massage (for baby and any other children) is most optimal to provide restoration for the mother. Of course, baby is welcome at any time to join you on the massage table

  • Herbal vaginal steams help promote pelvic circulation, healing, and relaxation. Herbs may include: red raspberry leaf, mugwort, comfrey, rose petals, calendula, chamomile. I have a custom wooden steam box with stainless steel pot that I will bring to your house.

  • Blood moving moxa sessions use a potent herb "Chinese Mugwort" to tone the spleen, move energy in the liver, help release resentment held in liver, promote vivid dreams as well as supercharge the immune system.

The box will be placed above your pubic bone and then the mugwort will be safely lit over a smoke screen. Chinese mugwort is the most potent transdermal herb with heat.

If you have any questions about this ancient postpartum healing modality, please ask!

  • Castor oil packs are another warming modality used to help with a myriad of postpartum hardships such as blocked milk ducts or mastitis ( castor oil pack on breasts) or assistance with C-section scar remediation once fully healed.

Castor oil packs help the lymphocyte count of the blood increase. This is a result of a positive influence on the thymus gland and lymphatic tissue. This speeds up the removal of toxins surrounding the cells and reduces the size of swollen lymph nodes. This helps enhance immune function!

I will help you learn how to incorporate this practice into weekly/ monthly self care routine. If you choose this modality, I will leave the castor oil kit with you ( one more serving of castor oil, wool flannel piece and jar).

  • After the massage I will give you a full body exfoliation with a custom made scrub with cumin, coriander, fennel and cold pressed olive oil. After the exfoliation you will shower off the scrub and feel completely renewed and refreshed!

  •  Himalayan hot stones have incredible benefits during the postpartum period.

    Himalayan hot stones:

Contain 84 minerals, helps remineralize the tissue

    Can help lower blood pressure

Boosts bone health and prevents intense muscle cramps

    Improves circulation

    Relieves anxiety and addresses insomnia

Lightly exfoliates the skin and is highly relaxing

Emits negative ions when heated, delivering a myriad of health benefits, from higher mental alertness to protection against germs in the air

During the massage, I will use warmed Himalayan salt stones to apply pressure, using Swedish massage techniques. During the course of the treatment, the minerals are absorbed through the skin.

  • Herbal aromatic water infused with various seasonal dried/fresh flowers, leaves, roots to rinse off with after Abhyanga and optional exfoliation. This is tradition is from Kerala, India. It helps remove fatigue, provides strength to the body, pacifies Vata dosha in the body, strengthens lower back, increases digestive fire.

“A heightened state of awareness and presence…”

Allison begins treatment as she tunes into the subtle energy of your presence and harvests native species of herbs and flowers for your essence rinse. Mindful preparation ensues arrival as oil is warmed, tea is brewed, and beautiful clean sheets are laid down.

While traditional techniques are consistently carried, each bespoke session is deeply personalized ensuring a holistic experience that nurtures both body and spirit. Warm earthy aroma infuses the air as Alison begins with gentle yet precise body work, allowing her intuition to guide while maintaining a serene presence that fosters an atmosphere of relaxation and rejuvenation. Hot salt stones are used to invigorate the skin with minerals and warmth, and an assisted floral rinse encourages visceral remembrance as women in our ancestral lineages would gather to help one other bathe.

An optional closing ceremony with mapacho smoke calls upon masculine energy to bring balance to the feminine, to seal and protect. Long after Allison leaves, treatment continues through a heightened state of awareness and presence inspiring creativity, flow, and insight.
